Face Data Collection and Use
When you upload photos for avatar generation, we collect facial images that you voluntarily provide. Here's how we handle your face data:
- What we collect: Facial photographs you upload for avatar creation. We do NOT collect biometric data, facial geometry, or use facial recognition technology.
- How we use it: Your facial photos are used exclusively to generate AI-styled avatars based on your appearance.
- Third-party processing: Photos are temporarily shared with our AI service provider (Replicate) solely for avatar generation processing.
- Third-party storage: Replicate keeps an encrypted working copy of each uploaded photo only to run the model and verify job completion. These copies are automatically deleted within 24 hours and are never used for advertising or model training.
- Storage location: Original photos are stored only on your device. Server copies (including at Replicate) are temporary and used only during processing.
- Retention period: Server-side copies are automatically deleted within 24 hours after processing because that window is required for job retries and troubleshooting. Local photos remain on your device until you delete them.
- No selling or sharing: We never sell, share for advertising, or provide your face data to any other third parties.
Third-Party Privacy Practices
- Service provider: Replicate (cloud AI inference). Their processing is limited to generating your avatars.
- Why they store face data: To execute the avatar generation job, verify it completed successfully, and allow limited retries if the job fails.
- How long they store it: Up to 24 hours, after which photos and generated outputs are automatically purged from their systems.
- Why this duration: The short window is required to finish processing and to investigate failed jobs; we do not allow longer retention.
- Use limits: Replicate is contractually prohibited from using your photos for advertising, selling, or training their models.
